Welcome to Burgundy Artisan Gites
4 properties settled in the Burgundian rolling hills

As the name describes we have 4 properties in the Cote d'Or region of Burgundy, which have all been renovated and converted into comfy and welcoming houses, using local workmen, designers and artists who use their talents to make each property unique.

Coming to Burgundy doesn't just mean excellent wine and food, there is so much to see in the beautiful french countryside, lots of sites to visit or simply walking around the calm hollyhock lined medieval streets of quaint local villages.

3 of our properties are situated on the edge of the medieval town of Semur en Auxois, just a short walk to numerous restaurants, bakers, tourist information office, bars and food stores. Take the time to walk the narrow curved streets, magnificent ramparts with cracked towers and the river at the bottom that make a photo opportunity at each turn.
On our property we have created an organic garden, mixing vegetables, flowers and fruit to help combat pests without using chemical pesticides and to encourage pollination from the right insects.
We use as much of our fresh produce as possible in our dishes which can be ordered before or during your stay.
Our properties use a maximum of local materials, stone and sand from the quarries, Douglas from the Morvan forest for the decking, hemp insulation from the local farmers and recuperated furniture and antique decoration sourced locally.

Our 4th property is nestled on the foothills of Flavigny sur Ozerain, classed as one of the prettiest villages of France, at the end of a small track where the odd car or horse may pass by. The peaceful valley with cows and grapevines are the views that you see from the windows where the occasional chime of the church bells can be heard in the distance. Our nearest neighbours are a short walk from the house so the garden/orchard is private and relaxing. Being a very rural situation quiet and calm is the essential part of the house yet its only a few minutes walk from the centre of the village where you will find 3 restaurants, bakery, post office and the aniseed sweet factory and café. Sitting on the hill top is the new beer brasserie where you can taste the beer made on the premises and enjoy the stunning views. At the bottom of the village is the famous winery, tastings are available here too. The small town of Venarey les Laumes is just a few kilometers away where you will find all that you need whilst holidaying in the area.
